The Brew-Hammond Energy Centre at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has officially launched the Student Energy and Sustainability Society, a move aimed at nurturing student interest and participation in energy solutions and sustainability initiatives.

The club opens doors for students who are passionate about energy innovation, climate action, and the green energy transition to engage meaningfully with research, training, and practical solutions within the energy sector.

the Director of the Centre, Professor David Ato Quansah, noted that the initiative provides a platform for students to learn, innovate, and contribute their talents towards Ghana’s energy transition.

“This gives students the opportunity to learn, innovate, and bring their talents to the green energy transition,” the Director stated.

He further indicated that the Centre remains committed to advancing high-quality research and training opportunities in the energy and sustainability space this year.

“We want to build on the momentum we have and consolidate the successes we have achieved so far,” he added.

Looking ahead, the Director revealed that the Centre intends to strengthen collaborations with industry partners, while fully leveraging the expertise and resources within the KNUST system to deliver impactful solutions in energy and sustainability.

“This year, we want to deepen our collaboration with industry partners and tap into the full potential of the KNUST system to deliver solutions in the area of energy and sustainability,” he said.

He expressed appreciation to the Centre’s fellows, stakeholders, and partners for their continuous support and expressed optimism for even greater collaboration in the year ahead.
