The Brew-Hammond Energy Centre, in Collaboration with Total Energies, Organises a 4-day Short Course on Climate Change and Energy Transition.
The Brew-Hammond Energy Centre of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), in partnership with Total Professeurs Associés (TPA), organised a 4-day short course on Climate Change and Energy Transition for students of KNUST. The short course occurred from 11th to 14th September 2023 at the Petroleum Building, College of Engineering.
In attendance were twenty-five (25) participants from diverse fields of study. The short course was moderated by Prof Jérôme Ferrier, a Professor from TPA and facilitated by Prof. Joseph Oppong Akowuah, Director of The Brew-Hammond Energy Centre.
Prof. Kwabena Biritwum Nyarko, Provost of the College of Engineering, graced the occasion and encouraged the students to take the course seriously.

In his opening remarks, Prof. Akowuah introduced the course and highlighted how insightful it would be. He mentioned that the course is organised annually for KNUST students to have adept knowledge in the evolution of Renewable Energy, CO2 emissions, and installed Solar PV Power Capacity. He said this skillset will help equip students for the job market and improve Renewable Energies across the country and the world.

Professor Jérôme Ferrier, TPA, introduced participants to the Climate Change and Energy Transition course. He led participants through insightful presentations and projections on Renewable Energy and the Installation of Solar. He challenged them to do more research and further studies.
