Mr
Saeed Abdul-Ganiyu

PhD Researcher

Department Mechanical Engineering Department

Office-location College of Engineering

Research-areas
Photovoltaic Thermal (PVT) Systems

Saeed Abdul-Ganiyu has worked as an electrical engineer for twelve years, particularly in the field of medical technology, in various capacities in a wide range of national and international projects. More recently, his work has focused on the integration of clean energy solution, especially solar, in medical technologies. Given his passion for best engineering practices, he has taken to research into solar energy technology, a major driver in the global call for cleaner energy sources. His specific research area is Photovoltaic Thermal (PVT) Systems, a solar energy technology that produces both electrical energy and useful heat energy simultaneously.

The UPERCRETs project offers him a unique opportunity in realizing a long standing dream of contributing to the body knowledge of clean energy. The immense potential of PVT technologies and their vast applications has attracted a lot interest from researchers. Research has established that environmental factors influence the performance of PVTs. However, there is very limited research in open literature about PVT studies carried out in sub-Saharan Africa. The research, thus, focuses on performance factors of a water-based PVT in an open environment in Ghana, a tropical country with vast solar potential.

His project is under the supervision of Prof. Samuel Muyewa Adaramola (NMBU, Norway), Prof. Seidu Razak (NTNU, Norway) and Dr. Emmanuel Ramde (KNUST, Ghana).
