The Chief Executive Officer of SourceTZ Technologies Limited, Mr. William Sarfo Mensah, has called on Ghanaians to be confident about the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs), citing major technological breakthroughs that have addressed long-standing concerns.
Speaking at the Brew-Hammond Energy webinar Series, organised in collaboration with Climate Compatible Growth Ghana, on the theme “Are Electric Vehicles Practical in Ghana? A Consumer and Market Perspective”, Mr. Mensah highlighted revolutionary advances in EV technology.
“We now have revolutionary batteries, advanced charging systems such as megawatt charging, wireless charging, and solar-integrated stations,” he said.
He also emphasised the strides made in EV safety, noting features such as active cooling systems, AI-powered battery management systems, and the IP67 waterproof rating, which protects vehicles against flooding.
According to him, these developments have eliminated many of the barriers that once hindered EV adoption.
“Concerns about range anxiety, charging time, battery life, cost, safety, and climate challenges are being overcome with these breakthroughs,” he added.
The webinar series forms part of the Brew-Hammond Energy Centre’s commitment to advancing conversations on sustainable energy solutions in Ghana.
